Yes. The following are some practicals that are available to students in the first two years of the diploma; soil work, microscope or laboratory work, CTLM programs (grooming for management), crop post-mortems, animal reproduction (AI), pest control and growing crops. The third year includes a full year on in-service training where students engage with business and have to complete application projects.
Minimum statutory NSC requirements for diploma entry. English, Afrikaans or isiXhosa (home language) on at least level 2 (40-49%). Mathematic 2 (30-39%) or Mathematical Literacy 3 (40-49%). Recommended NSC subjects: Economics, Agriculture Management Practices, Agriculture Sciences, Agriculture Technology, Life Sciences and Accounting.
